1.) What is a Resume?
A resume is a summary of your personal data, academic qualifications, and work- related achievements representing you, and helping you get that interview you want.
A curriculum vitae (CV) is a type of resume. It is usually longer and contains more information about your academic experiences and accomplishments, and may be preferred by non-American employers.
2.) What are the benefits of writing a Resume?
- Learn more about yourself through assessment of your interests, skills, abilities, experiences, competencies, and personal attributes.

Helps you to focus on your achievements and accomplishments.

Gives direction when considering career plans.

Keeps a record of yourself for quick recall when required.

Avoids forgetting or omitting important information after lapse of time.

Facilitates applications for school admissions, internships, employment opportunities, etc.

3.) What Makes a Good Resume?
- Contents are well-organized and well-presented (e.g., consistent format, logical order, good layout and easy to read).

Grammar, sentence construction, spelling and punctuation are correct and appropriately used.

Jargon and abbreviations must be avoided.

Contents have focus so that employers are clear about your career goals.

Objective, if used, is well-defined and readily understood.

All relevant skills and experiences are clearly presented.

Length of the resume is usually not more than two pages. (However, non-American employers may expect a longer resume, and require more information on your personal data, accomplishments, experiences, etc.)

Presentation should look professional -e.g., good quality paper, neat, clean, no fanciful typesetting, colors, etc.
