Ghana
Language: The official language of Africa is English Visa and Work Permit: Nationals of certain countries can visit Ghana for up to three months without a visa but will need to be granted a work permit or visa to take up employment. Cost of Living: The cost of living and traveling is very low in Ghana so your money should go a long way once you’re out there. It has been estimated that you can live off of $8000 a year in Ghana. Cultural Differences: Appointments are customary and visitors should always be punctual for meetings. Best time for business visits is from September to April. Office hours: Mon-Fri 0800-1200 and 1400-1700, Sat 0830-1200. Corruption, bribery, graft, and petty thuggery exist openly in Ghana....even in the Parliament, judiciary system, as well as the custom and immigration service. Be very careful in the business environment. Job Searching: Ghana is one of the most stable countries in Africa and has long supported foreigners who come to work and volunteer in the areas of education and commercial life.
