Visa and Work Permit:

 All incoming visitors to Kenya (except East African Citizens) require a visa. All non-Kenya Citizens must be in possession of Entry/Work Permits issued by the Principal Immigration Office, before they can take up employment in Kenya.  You can download visa applications on this site:

Cost of Living:

 Cost of Living in Kenya is very low.  Budget around $6500 dollars a year to live there.

Cultural Differences:

In Kenya, businesspeople of the same sex who are well-acquainted may greet each other with hugs. Wait for your Kenyan counterpart to initiate this action.

Job Searching:

 The chances of foreigners finding paid employment in Kenya are low. There are voluntary work opportunities taking part in community projects in building, teaching and conservation. Work teaching English can be found particularly in the Western Province.  A good link for such opportunities:
