A Way With Words & Numbers is a community-based non-profit program that teams undergraduate students from the University of Missouri (MU) with local children to improve their struggling literacy and mathematics skills.

History
In 1996, the MU Career Center took advantage of federal Work Study funds released to support the America Reads initiative, and developed A Way With Words.

Our staff consists of undergraduate and graduate students. |
Who We Serve
Our program currently serves 25 different sites including all of the 19 Columbia public elementary and 3 middle schools, Boys & Girls Club, Moving Ahead and the Columbia Public Library. |
