What Can I do With a Major

Major: Chemical Engineering

Description of Major:

The knowledge and duties of chemical engineers overlap many fields. Chemical engineers apply the principles of chemistry, physics, mathematics, and mechanical and electrical engineering to perform the following tasks in the different phases of chemical production: In addition to working with the production of chemicals, chemical engineers also work with the production of electronics, photographic equipment, clothing, and pulp and paper. They also work in healthcare , biotechnology, and business services industries. They frequently specialize in a particular operation such as oxidation or polymerization. Others specialize in a particular area such as pollution control or the production of specific products such as fertilizers and pesticides, automotive plastics, or chlorine bleach.
