What Can I do With a Major

Major : Chemistry

Description of Major:

A major in chemistry requires studies in the composition, structure, and characteristics of matter and the means by which it reacts and changes. Most of your schooling will be spent in a laboratory where you are expected to perform experiments and create observations and analysis that could currently challenge traditional beliefs. And individual majoring in chemistry should have a strong sense of curiosity, have good mechanical and analytical reasoning, be able to think logically, and enjoy performing experiments in a laboratory setting. Traditional courses that chemistry majors might have to take include general chemistry, inorganic and organic chemistry, biology, calculus, physics, and radiochemistry. Some specialized fields within this major include analytical chemistry, inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, medicinal/pharmaceutical chemistry, and physical and theoretical chemistry.
