What Can I do With a Major
Major: Design Description of Major: In this program, you will study the principles and techniques used to communicate ideas and information to individuals through visual media. You will analyze how people perceive information and then learn how to create illustrations, printed media, photographs, apparel, furnishings, packaging, or interiors, for example, which will convey the desired message. You will take courses which teach the conceptual, perceptual, and spatial principles of the visual arts. You will also take courses specific to a medium, such as drawing, photography, textiles, and use of color. You will then take studio courses which will expose you to the tools, materials, and techniques of the discipline.
