What Can I do With a Major

Major: Elementary Education

Description of Major:

Elementary teachers play a vital role in the development of children. They introduce children to the basics of numbers, language, science, and social studies. They use games, music, artwork, films, slides, computers, and other teaching technology to teach basic skills. Elementary teachers take the time to model and instill good habits and a curiosity for learning. To qualify for certification, a teacher must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited teacher training program. Since regulations vary from state to state, you may wish to contact the department of education in your state of interest for specific information.
