What Can I do With a Major

Major: Horticulture

Description of Major:

Students wishing to study horticulture at Mizzou major in Plant Sciences and select one of eight different emphasis areas available to them.  Most students interested in horticulture choose landscape horticulture, ornamental plant production and operations management, or turfgrass management as their emphasis area, although there are horticultural applications in the remaining emphasis areas as well.

This branch of agriculture involves production and use of fruits vegetables and ornamental plants. Study of trees, flowers, shrubs, vines, and grasses. Horticulture sites: greenhouses, garden centers, nurseries play important role in home gardening and landscaping.
