What Can I do With a Major Major: Real Estate Description of Major: A person interested in majoring in real estate will learn how to develop, appraise, buy sell, and manage real property such as buildings and land. Some schools will even provide opportunities for internships with real estate agencies or other similar businesses. Some courses for this major include accounting, economics, psychology, statistics, real estate law, taxation, and property appraisal. Before working as a real estate agent, an individual must pass a standard written exam to receive licensing. A person going into this field should have good mathematical and writing skills, make decisions easily, be able to persuade people for their ideas, and constantly be thinking critically and analytically. Working in real estate can be a personally rewarding experience that is constantly changing and always challenging.
