Summer employment is a great way for students to gain a variety of skills and add to their experience before they enter the workforce. This form of work typically starts after the conclusion of Winter Semester final exams and ends before classes resume in August. Summer employment can be full-time or part-time based on the required hours.

The Career Center has two different approaches to looking for summer employment and opportunities. Read below to use the correct steps to search for the type of summer employment you are seeking.

Interested in summer positions that involve: camp counselor, camp employee, educational programs, educational seminars?
Use the Career Center Database and peform a search under the Classification of Summer Opportunity.

Interested in summer positions that involve: babysitting, serving, research, sales representatives, clerical duties?
Use the following steps:
1. Go to the Career Center Database and scroll down to choose an Advanced Search
2. Select either the Classification of Full-time Position or Part-time Position, depending on the hours you desire
3. Select the Job Duration of Summer by clicking the adjacent field (make sure the other boxes are empty if you wish to only search for a Summer position)
