Workshop Recommendations:We get many requests for StrengthsQuest and resume writing, which we are excited to accommodate. If you want something different, try the Values Auction, CAREER Challenge, or Developing Your Online Image workshops for your class.
We must have 2 weeks notice to accommodate any request. As we strongly believe in your classes and the information we provide to help your students, we would be happy to provide up to 2 workshops per class.
StrengthsQuest assessment: The FIG program will subsidize $10 of each StrengthsQuest assessment for your class, leaving the student to pay only $5. To make this happen, they must take the assessment at the MU Career Center and we must have a roster of your students in advance.
Workshop Recommendations: For our freshmen groups, we HIGHLY recommend the Values Auction, the CAREER Challenge, or the Resume/Interviewing workshops as they tend to be more interactive and provide great overall ideas and referrals to that audience.
We are collaborating with our Res Life colleagues this year to provide a Career Specialist On Demand (30 min-1 hour) who can answer questions from your residents on an individual, drop-in basis on your floor. PLEASE SELECT CAREER SPECIALIST ON DEMAND FROM THE LIST BELOW.

We love working with our seniors and grad students, and find many times your request is more customized because they may be job searching currently. The Job Search Quick Tips workshop may be a good option as it allows us to customize the information to your group (you can select this presentation and then leave detailed notes of what your goals are for this session.) You can always choose any other presentation if you want to focus on one area.
For students taking an online class, we will need your name, student ID #, and course name & number. We will send you a code & receipt and charge your student account $15. Access codes are generally sent within 2 business days, but please allow for 3-5 days to process your request.

After you complete your request, you will initially receive an automated response saying we received the information. Within 1-3 business days, one of our Career Education Consultants will contact you by email or phone with either a confirmation or follow up questions. PLEASE EMAIL US AT
Your request MUST be submitted at least TWO WEEKS before your desired presentation date or assignment due date. That gives us enough time process your request and determine if we can accommodate you. We need this time to find an available Career Specialist Outreach Team member or make sure we can handle the walk-in traffic in the MU Career Center for assignments.
We do our best to accommodate presentation and on-site service requests, and are eager to work with our campus colleagues. There are occasions, however, when we may not be able to accommodate a request. If there is a date/time conflict, if we aren’t able to do a requested customized topic, if we don’t have enough notice, or if the walk-in traffic will be too overwhelming during a particular week, we will contact you to hopefully find a solution.
We have developed 50-minute presentations about general career topics and the StrengthsQuest assessment, geared to be as interactive and informative as possible. Presenters are members of the Career Center's outstanding trained student staff. The information is designed to be helpful for most any audience demographic (freshmen-senior, most majors/interest areas), so specific customization may not be available. For groups 15 and under consider having your presentation at the MU Career Center. This includes the presentation and a brief tour of our services (subject to room availability).
You can instruct your students to come to the MU Career Center to complete your desired assignment. We are open on a walk-in basis from 9am-5pm Monday-Friday in the lower level of the Student Success Center, where they will check in with our Career Specialists and let them know what they are there to do (mock interviews are the only service that requires an appointment). For our assessments, your students will need to arrive NO LATER than 4:00pm on any given day to complete and process the assessment. Please advise your students to not wait until the last minute as we give no guarantee we can help all students the day or hours before the class time due to staffing constraints.
