Working at the MU Career Center has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I’ve learned so much in the past two years. I’ve learned so many things from career related tips to life lessons.
I love the positive feeling and family vibe the MU Career Center gives off. I never dread going to work. Every day is new and exciting and my coworkers are fantastic. I definitely think of the MUCC as a second home. The relationships that you build here are going to last a lifetime. The people that I work with are so good at giving people what they need. Whether it be general life advice, school tips or tough love, you know that you are a valued member of the team.
My bosses are INCREDIBLE! Yes, that’s in all caps for a reason. The full time staff treats you like an adult because you are one. They see you on an equal playing field. In places I’ve worked in the past, that hasn’t always been the case. In my personal experience, my opinions, concerns and praises have been listened to and valued by everyone.
I love that my bosses respect and trust me enough to be in charge of a project. They have full faith in not only just me, but everyone who works at the MU Career Center. They’re extremely encouraging with all our activities in and outside of work. The thing I love the most is that they respect that I’m a busy student. They respect my class schedule and my time.
They’re so many different learning opportunities the Career Center provides. You learn about career related things, you learn about yourself, and I fully believe the MU Career Center helps you learn and care about others. The MU Career Center is one of the most valuable resources to students on campus whether you’re coming in for job help or working there. I wouldn’t trade my time I’ve spent here for anything else in the world!
