Our KU football game is this weekend, and folks are leaning into the storied rivalry! And while I hope the Tigers hang 50+ on the Jayhawks, it got me thinking about the loyalty of our Tiger community.
Tigers are ferocious – not just because they are predators in the wild, but because they have a fearsome loyalty and pride in their school. That loyalty extends to current Mizzou students. There are more than 362,000 Tigers located all over the globe, eager to help Tiger “cubs” pursue their goals. So, consider how you can tap into this community… here are my suggestions:
- Research and connect with Tigers on LinkedIn based on where they live, what they studied and what they do for a living
- Attend events where alumni will be present
- Lean into your faculty and staff connections – many of us received one or more degrees from Mizzou and all us our proud of our institution.
- Join groups that involve alumni like AASB or professional associations.
- Attend a career fair to lean about employment opportunities – TONS of alumni attend our fairs to represent their companies and recruit more Tigers to their teams!
In the meantime, break out the black and gold and rest your voice so we can cheer out football team onto victory Saturday.
GO TIGERS!!!!
