College is the time where you can find transformational experiences. Mizzou offers endless opportunities for you to serve others, become a leader and sharpen your skills. While Mizzou has exceptional academic-based programs like the Community Engaged Learning and the Novak Institute, to name a few. Below is a list of programs you can make an impact outside of the classroom.
Leadership
- Associated Students of the University of Missouri (ASUM): Advocacy for Mizzou students with Missouri lawmakers and mizzou administrators.
- Missouri Students Association: there are a myriad of ways to serve in student government to affect change and build leadership skills in the three branches (executive, legislative and judicial).
- Mizzou Leadership Institute: An annual conference aimed to provide student leaders with a chance to do meaningful reflection and sharpen their leadership skills
- Mentor Leaders: Summer Welcome Leaders, Involvement Ambassadors and Resident Advisors create a sense of belonging, share information, and provide guidance to new students and their peers.

Service
- Sustain Mizzou: A student-led environmental sustainability program that empowers students to make a difference on campus and in the Columbia community through education, service and hands-on engagement.
- Mizzou Alternative Breaks: Opportunities to volunteer in Missouri and across the country to give back to communities in need while exploring new places!
- Service Days: Caring for Columbia and Step Forward Day are a couple of one-day experiences where students do service projects in Columbia.
- Tiger Pantry/Truman’s Closet: Volunteer once or on an ongoing basis to assist those who are facing food insecurity or are looking to borrow professional attire.
- Peer notetakers: Students can take notes in their classes and share them with peers with disabilities.
- Tiger for a Cause: Weekly service events for students and transportation is included if off-campus.
