Handshake is a free employment site that connects student and alumni job seekers with employers looking to recruit interns, part-time, and full-time hires. Every Mizzou student has a basic profile created for them. Log into Handshake to activate your account, complete your profile, and upload a resume. Once approved, you may begin applying for jobs.

Alumni job seekers
If you graduated more than a year ago, please create a Handshake account by registering here. Click on the “Register a New Account” button. A staff member will contact you by email within 3-5 business days to verify your alumni status. You will be asked to provide your full (maiden) name, Student ID, graduation date, and hometown. If you cannot recall your 8-digit Student ID, please call the Office of the University Registrar for assistance at 573-882-7881.

Employers, are you new to Handshake?
Off-campus employers
Pending employers and company contacts have limited access to the site until approved. If your organization is not registered on Handshake, a career services staff member will first review your account.
If your organization is already registered on Handshake, a company delegate must approve your account. Please contact Handshake support if you need assistance getting approval from your organization.
On-campus employers
Connect with your HR/Fiscal Officer to ensure you are following HR requirements related to recruitment and the hiring process, including securing funds for the position.
- If funding is available, email the Career Center to get started with promoting on Handshake.
- If funding is not available, email the Work-Study Coordinator for information about the Federal Work-Study Program.
