Overview
The MU Career Center serves all MU students with their career exploration and development needs. We offer daily appointments and drop-in services to help you:
- Explore majors and careers paths
- Write résumés, CVs and cover letters
- Search for jobs and internships
- Prepare for interviews
- And much more!
We meet with students in person or online via Zoom. Our services are free of charge with the exception of the CliftonStrengths assessment (which costs $15).
Paraprofessionals
Our services are provided by Career Specialists, MU students with in-depth training who provide one-on-one advising. Our friendly and resourceful staff make talking about major and career questions an easy and comfortable process. They represent a diverse group of undergraduates and graduate students who are wholly committed to helping others. When you engage with us, you’ll discover more about who you are and get the information and resources needed to pursue your career goals.
Career Counseling
MU students, alumni and faculty members looking for individual attention and ongoing support may consider career counseling to more deeply explore issues. Counselors are graduate students in training who are receiving licensed supervision to provide individual counseling on a wide range of career, academic, and social issues. Counseling is available for appointments during the academic year.
Career Courses
The Career Center offers several sections of the SSC 2100 Career Explorations course. The goal of this 1-credit hour class is to help students explore what to major in and what they can do with their major. There are a variety of self-discovery, life design and career and major exploration activities designed to help students uncertain about their future.
