Human Resource Services

Human Resource Services assists academic and administrative departments in managing the university’s most valuable asset: its people. It offers services in recruiting, temporary staffing, consultation services, payroll, compensation, training and development.

  • Individual Consultations
    Current staff looking to advance their careers at Mizzou may request an individual consultation by contacting muhrs@missouri.edu or 573-882-7976.
  • Percipio (Online Learning)
    This e-learning program provides thousands of courses, books and videos on leadership, software, business skills, personal effectiveness and other professional development topics to help faculty and staff build skills and competencies.  You may select from over 700 skill-based learning channels. **myLearn is only available to current MU faculty and staff**
  • Faculty/Staff Job Postings (posted in MyHR)
    Current and prospective employees may search and apply for executive, academic, and staff positions.
  • SOS Temporary Staffing
    Candidates looking for temporary positions may register with SOS to be considered for various levels and lengths of employment with MU.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

As an employee, you have access to EAP which offers free, short-term, confidential counseling sessions for employees (faculty and staff) and their household members. Employees are eligible to receive EAP services as of their first day of work. The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provides tools, resources and counseling services to support emotional wellness, the ability to successfully handle life’s stresses and to adapt to change and difficult times.
Optum’s Live and Work Well program offers services systemwide to all University of Missouri employees (the four universities, MU Health Care and UM System) and their household members. Learn more.

Career Counseling

If you are unsure about your career or considering changing your career plans, the MU Career Center offers career counseling to alumni during the academic semesters. Please fill out an intake form and e-mail it to CareerCounseling@missouri.edu.  It is recommended that you use Chrome to complete the intake form – other browsers such as Mozilla Firefox may not allow you to type directly into the form. There is a $25 fee to use our career counseling services per academic year. Please be aware that current MU students are given priority for counseling services. Please be aware career counseling is available September -May.

Strengths@Mizzou

Learn how to utilize your strengths for your own career development. Strengths@Mizzou includes several activities that help faculty and staff members reflect on their unique strengths, as well as a link to Gallup resources designed specifically for educators.

Staff Advisory Council

Staff may apply for the Staff Development Award Program to pay registration fees for on and off campus training events. You may also consider volunteering to serve on a campus-wide committee or running for a seat on the council.  **Staff Advisory Council is only available to current MU faculty and staff

Division of Information Technology (DoIT)

MU DoIT offers free courses available to faculty, staff and students. These courses include Adobe programs, Microsoft Office programs, web design, live webinars on various topics, and more.  **DoIT courses are only available to current MU faculty and staff**
