Career Readiness

Career Readiness Competencies: The National Association of Colleges and Employers’ definition of career readiness and the eight core competencies that employers expect college graduates to possess.

Career Readiness Slideshow: Slides that define the eight career competencies and include sample behaviors that demonstrate proficiency.

Career Readiness Guides: These guides offer simple, practical steps students can take to shape their career development journey and advance their career readiness.

Presentation & Assignment request form: Submit a request for a class assignment or group presentation on career readiness (or other career topics).

Career Readiness Ideas for Instructors: Recommendations on how you can help students reflect on how they can translate their experiences and skills to relevant careers using a shared understanding and language of career readiness.

Mizzou Career Tools: A digital toolkit of information, resources, tools, and referrals to help students identify and achieve their career aspirations.

Career Readiness Integration Worksheet: A worksheet for faculty and staff to brainstorm ideas around each career competency that could be a classroom activity, a student assignment, or questions for one-on-one student conversations.

Focus 2: Career Readiness Modules: Students can self-evaluate to what degree they have developed each of the eight career competencies. The assessment calculates responses to questions and provides suggestions on how to further develop each competency.


What Are Alumni Doing?

Career Outcomes (School/College): This web page includes published career outcomes data from the past three years and is intended for external audiences (prospective students and families, media, employers, etc.).

Career Outcomes (by major and student demographics): This detailed outcomes data is hosted on Power BI and intended for faculty and staff. Career outcomes data can be viewed by academic major and emphasis as well as different student demographics such as gender, race and first gen status.

What Can I Do With this Major?: A great tool for students, faculty and staff looking to connect majors with potential career paths.
